Bradley Beal to miss extended time with ankle injury
Bradley Beal Rick Scuteri-USA TODAY Sports

The Phoenix Suns will once again be without guard Bradley Beal for some time due to his latest ankle injury.

The Suns announced Monday that Beal suffered a sprained ankle Friday against the New York Knicks when he landed awkwardly after taking a three. Beal will miss at least two weeks, and will not be re-evaluated until early January.

Once again, the Suns will be deprived of their new “Big 3” for a lengthy period. Beal had missed most of the season due to a lingering back injury which he had only returned from last Tuesday. Due in large part to that issue, the Suns’ trio of Beal, Devin Booker, and Kevin Durant have played just 24 minutes together this year, a number that will remain the same into the new year.

Assuming nothing else happens, the Suns will still have the chance to get their stars in sync before the playoffs. That assumption is no guarantee considering how their year has gone. Even if the Suns do get back on track injury-wise, this has absolutely not gone according to plan so far, through no real fault of anyone.
